Ally From Customer Service Shares Her Tips On Staying Energised

And no, coffee isn't one of them.

If you're wondering which of the Bed Threads team gets the most compliments from customers, it's Ally in our customer service team. She's bright, bubbly, and never misses a beat. Ally is a cherished member of the Bed Threads family – for both the team, and our lovely customers.

It’s difficult to know what the day will bring when working in customer service, where different enquiries are made everyday about our beloved products. Because of the spontaneity that each day brings for Ally, it’s important she starts her mornings with a routine that sets her up for whatever the day might bring.

We wanted to find out how Ally prepares for days that are never the same, and how she stays energised throughout the day as someone who doesn’t drink coffee.

Hi Ally! Welcome to the Bed Threads Team Morning Routine Series! Can you tell us a little bit about what you do at Bed Threads?

I work in the customer service team and my role is to attend to all of our customer enquiries whether it be through live chat or emails. I assist in providing information on our beautiful products, help customers with orders, find a solution for all queries, and best of all I get to create a bond with our lovely customers.

What time do you typically wake up? Can you walk us through your morning routine?

My cat is my alarm clock. Usually she jumps on my bed between 6.30 am – 7 am, and doesn't stop pestering me until I get up to feed her.

I have to be honest, winter has been too cold to get up so my mornings have become a bit lazy. Once I’m out of bed, my day begins with a hot tea. I feed my cats, and start on my daily face routine of cleansing, toning, hydrating serum, moisturizer, followed by makeup. Once all that is done I go for a walk.

What are some essentials that you can’t start your day without?

Walking. I love getting out early before the world has woken up and enjoying the quiet sounds of the city. I feel so much better after breathing in fresh air and just clearing my head before the day starts.

What do you typically eat for breakfast to kickstart your day?

It depends, on office days it’s a quick piece of toast with peanut butter or a bowl of cereal, and on the days I work from home I can be a bit more creative with an omelette or scrambled eggs. I do enjoy a good breakfast – it gets you ready for the day.

Is there anything aside from coffee that helps when you feel too tired to function?

Yes, definitely. I actually don’t drink coffee. I really can’t stand the taste. I like a cup of tea or a chai latte. I usually start to feel tired around 3 – 3.30 pm, so I make myself a chai and this gets me through the afternoon.

How do you prioritise your tasks and organise your morning to ensure a productive start?

I am a huge believer in lists. I have a notebook by my side all day where I jot down what needs to be done or needs following up on. It’s such a nice feeling to cross it off once all sorted.
