Whether you're looking to absorb yourself in world-class art, tuck into local delicacies, relax beachside, or go on a nature adventure, Tasmania has got you covered. The Apple Isle also boasts a stunning selection of luxurious accommodations to unwind in.

We’ve rounded up some of our favourite Airbnbs on the island, from countryside cottages to glass-fronted sculptural pads by the sea, to give you some inspiration for your next trip. 1. Slow Beam, Hobart

If you’re heading to Hobart, you should seriously consider staying at Slow Beam. We love the retro design of this home, from the orange-tiled bathroom with a big tub to soak into the electric blue velvet sofa and the big windows overlooking West Hobart. Artworks by Australian artworks including Esther Stewart and Kirsten adorn the walls and there are toiletries by Le Labo in the bathrooms and Market Lane Coffee in the kitchen. Everything is thoughtfully curated for a minibreak, and at only eight minutes from Hobart’s Salamanca Harbour, the location can’t be beaten.

2. Little Crabtree, Crabtree

Just a 30-minute drive from Hobart and you’ll find yourself in the misty countryside of Crabtree where this beautifully designed home can be found. One wall of the property is completely glass, giving you surrounding views of the valleys and greenery, and the rest is impeccably curated, with washed concrete flooring, wooden furniture and a fully stocked kitchen. There’s a private creek for dips and you can cook at home or head out for dinner at nearby restaurants. It really is the best of both worlds here.

3. The Eco Cabin, Deloraine

The drawcard of this rustic cabin is the hot tub, which is situated on the deck and offers views of the town of Deloraine in Northern Tasmania. When you’re not soaking in the tub, make use of the free bikes and take a loop around the town and check out the sights, before heading back to your own private escape.

4. Earth and Ocean Beach House, Beaumaris

Sure, Tassie is full of beautiful countryside cottages and cabins. But don’t forget the beach houses, such as this one, which overlooks Shelley Point just outside of Scamander on the North Eastern coast of Tasmania. This modern holiday home has some of the best ocean views we’ve ever seen, courtesy of a soaring deck and big glass windows looking right down to the sea. Settle in for sunsets and sunrises – you’ve never seen anything like it.

5. Arrakis amongst the dunes, Freycinet

Two hours from Launceston is Dolphin Sands, a stretch of beach that looks out into Great Oyster Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula. Here, you’ll find stunning seafood – yes, lots of oysters – and scenery as well as Arrakis, a unique Airbnb with a domed roof, perfectly situated right on the sand for stargazing and sunset watching. The inside of the property is beautifully designed, with modern touches and a kitchen perfect for self-catering holidays. Take the supplied telescope out onto the deck one evening with a thermos of mulled wine and spend a night among the stars.

6. Lumi Cottage, Cygnet

The Huon Valley is Tasmania’s foodie paradise, offering plentiful vineyards, orchards and farms for those looking for an authentic experience. Apples are a local specialty, as is the crisp cider, and this well-designed cottage, which combines rustic elements with thoughtful touches, such as comfortable armchairs for lounging around with a book, is perfectly placed to enjoy them all. Just an hour from Hobart, this cottage in the town of Cygnet is in a great central location for experiencing everything Tasmania has to offer.

7. Wahroonga on Bourke, Launceston

Whether you're looking for a luxury weekend in or a calming space to unwind after a day of exploring, this moody loft in a renovated Federation house is the perfect spot. With chic design elements including a fireplace, bay windows with sweeping views of Launceston, and a spacious bathroom, this apartment is perfect for a weekend away. Guests also receive a complimentary local gin and tonic upon arrival.

8. Lalla Flower Cottage, Lalla

For those looking for a countryside experience, try this cottage set on 30 acres of land just 20 minutes outside of Launceston, in the north of Tasmania. The building has been cleverly restored – we particularly love the sunshine yellow and rich blue kitchen – and with three bedrooms it can comfortably sleep a whole family or a group of friends on a holiday together.

9. Country Cottage on the River, Avoca

For a lovely country experience, look no further than this 1910 miners' cottage right on the banks of the St Pauls river. The fireplace will keep you cosy in the evenings and the location, in the historic town of Avoca, means you are close to much of what the east coast of Tasmania has to offer. But given that this is the kind of rustic countryside cottage that you will want to hole up in for a weekend away, we don’t think that you’re going to be doing much exploring if you book this Airbnb.

10. Captains Rest, Strahan

This waterfront cabin built for two on the western coast of Tasmania is the ultimate in quiet seclusion. The décor is all muted greys against fresh white, with antiques and vintage curios dotted throughout. Upon waking up expect to gaze out at the old jetty and the still water, then enjoy a morning brew outside and await, perhaps, a local fisherman to approach to say hello or even sell you tonight's dinner.
