8 New Shows Hitting Our Screens in February

From a fresh season of 'You' to 'Carnival Row'.

So you’ve binged your way through January's television offerings – what will be on your list for February? Are you a Drive To Survive fan? A binge-watcher who can’t get enough of You? Or are you looking for something new, like a chilling true story? Television has a little something for everyone this month, with new shows and returning favourites across all genres.

Below, we share nine new shows and seasons that we’ll be watching in February 2023.

1. Dear Edward

Where can I watch it? On AppleTV+

Set in the aftermath of a horrific plane crash, Dear Edward follows a 12-year-old boy who is the only survivor, and the connections that he forges in the wake of the accident. Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling are two of the co-stars of this 10-episode season, with young actor Colin O’Brien playing the role of Edward.

2. You – Season Four

Where can I watch it? On Netflix

The fourth season of Netflix’s beloved stalker crime series You will be split into two halves, with the first arriving on the platform in early February. This season, following the shocking finale of the third season, the action will take place in England, with Badgley’s Joe finding himself on the campus of a prestigious university. All seems rosy for a minute or two, but where Joe is concerned, nothing can ever last. Tati Gabrielle is back, and a new cast member is Lukas Gage, whom fans will remember from Euphoria and The White Lotus season one.

3. Hotel Portofino – Season Two

Where can I watch it? On Prime Video

The second season of this beloved costume drama comes to Binge and Foxtel this month. This series is one for fans of Downton Abbey and The Gilded Age. Set in a beautiful Italian resort, it follows the guests, staff and residents as they mix and mingle. It’s an upstairs-downstairs classic, with beautiful costumes and scenery. Think The White Lotus, but without any of the edge.

4. Hello Tomorrow

Where can I watch it? On AppleTV+

This what-if series is set in a retro-futuristic world of hovercards, robot butlers and… timeshares on the moon. Billy Crudup stars as a salesman in charge of a team hawking homes among the stars, selling small-town America on the dream of a better life on the moon. But a dark undercurrent might be at play in this fantasy land, and when the reality of what the team have been selling comes to light, everything they have achieved threatens to come crashing down. This is one of our most anticipated shows of the month and we can’t wait to watch, not just because of the storyline but because of the cast (Jacki Weaver and Alison Pill!) and the gorgeous sets and costume design.

5. Last King of the Cross

Where can I watch it? On Paramount+

For fans of Underbelly comes Last King Of The Cross, a show that follows the two Ibrahim brothers John and Sam – played by Lincoln Younes and Claude Jabbour – in their battle for power over Sydney’s infamous Kings Cross red light district. Can family be stronger than business? What is the cost of ultimate power? These are the questions asked by this miniseries, based on the real-life figures who ruled Sydney’s nightlife.

6. Carnival Row

Where can I watch it? On Prime Video

Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne star in this cult fantasy series, which is back for a second season on February 17. Bloom stars as a detective investigating murders in this fictional world where humans and fantasy creatures interact with devastating conclusions. This season will mark the finale of the show, so fans will definitely want to tune in to find out the ending.

7. Drive to Survive – Season Five

Where can I watch it? On Netflix

It’s the runaway success of recent years, a television show that has made Formula One a mainstream favourite and turned race car drivers into major celebrities. Drive to Survive returns for a fifth season this month, following the 2022 Formula One World Championship. One driver that we know is going to be appearing in a major way is Max Verstappen, who is part of the Red Bull team and will be one of the figures that the show follows throughout the tournament. Other drivers include Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Australia’s own Daniel Ricciardo.

8. Liaison

Where can I watch it? On AppleTV+

Apple’s first French-language series is here, starring Vincent Cassel, Eva Green and Thierry Fremont. The show is a six-episode espionage thriller about how past lives – and loves – can catch up to our present. The show will combine French and English scenes and is set to be a combination of Slow Horses and The Night Manager.
