Everything You Need to Know About Houseparty—the App Everyone Is Talking About Right Now
Missing your weekly brunch catchups with your best friends? The good news is that we're living in the year 2020 and technology has never been more advanced. That means streaming services where you can virtually watch Netflix shows together and intuitive apps like Houseparty where you can gather all of your friends in one room (virtually, of course) to catch up on all things work, pop culture and what's going on in the world right now.
Create a room
When you create a room in the Houseparty app, your friends are notified and are able to join and begin chatting right away. You'll see their camera pop up on your screen, similarly to apps your already know and use like FaceTime and Skype.
Meet new people
When you're invited to a room, you have the option of adding in your own friends as well, which is a great way to introduce different friendship groups, or even a new partner to your best friend for the first time since a dinner party is out of the question right now. Houseparty is a great app for anyone who's looking to remain social and spark interesting conversations with people and forge new relationships.
Play games
When you've caught up on everything that's happening in each other's lives, it's time to challenge the room to a game or two. There's trivia for all the history buffs out there as well as Ellen Degeneres' cult mobile game Heads Up where you'll be challenged to name celebrities and practice your best accents for everyone to guess.
Houseparty's popularity is on the rise as we've seen some of our favourite influencers and celebrities jump on the virtual hangout bandwagon, and we can't wait to try it with our friends and family this week.
