The 20 Jaw-Dropping Rustic Farmhouses You Have to Follow on Instagram

There's something innately comforting about a rustic farmhouse, and when we stumbled upon the beautifully-curated feeds of the following homesteads we found ourselves in a black hole of dried leaves, weatherboards, and vintage treasures.

If you're looking for some interior inspiration for your own place or simply want to live vicariously through the owners of these gorgeous cottages, set aside a couple of hours to discover all of the rustic farmhouse goodness in their galleries.

1. @the_estate_trentham

Designed and run by none other than Lynda Gardener who has featured in our Makers series, The Estate Trentham is the pinnacle of rustic Australiana. The dedicated Instagram account for the property is as photoshoot-ready as you'd expect; with beautiful white falls where vintage portraits and eclectic clusters of art hang neatly. This account is like decoration therapy for the interiors obsessed.

2. @ed_hansen

If you love cascading ceilings, lush gardens, and warm organic furniture, you better head on over to Ed Hansen's account to get an insider look at his idyllic farmhouse. Prepare yourself for maximum levels of chic country inspiration. If you can't get enough of Ed's impeccable taste, we were lucky enough to visit Ed's inner-city apartment in our Makers Series.

Temple Farmhouse is located within the rolling hills of Byron Bay on NSW's northern coastline and boasts a sprawling area of seventy-five acres to enjoy. The best part? It's available to rent on Airbnb so you can experience firsthand the rustic charm that's overflowing from this contemporary version of a rustic farmhouse.

4. @dunoonfarmhouse

Remaining in the state but making our way down south, this Gerringong beauty is simply breathtaking and brimming with decades of history. Inside, the farmhouse has been tastefully restored and updated in a sleek, monochrome aesthetic and includes a sparkling swimming pool with green views as far as the eye can see.

5. @lisadanielle__

If French-style farmhouses are more your thing, then Lisa Danielle's newly renovated home in the Byron Bay Hinterland will be right up your alley. The enormous ceiling height and pitched roof give the home a sense of airiness and spaciousness, which ties in beautifully with the neutral interiors Lisa has adorned her home with.

The queen of rustic farmhouse style herself and member of our Makers club, Marnie's home in the Macedon Ranges is like something out of a storybook. Complete with a white picket fence, rose garden, and resident chooks, this photographer's farmhouse is where we turn for interior inspiration.

Nestled away in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales is the luxury accomodation of Coqunn Cottage. With a neutral colour palette and organic materials, this stunning small home is the perfect weekend escape, and the ultimate farmhouse inspo for your IG feed.

8. @atelier.ellis

Producers of beautiful, handmade paint for the home, Atelier Ellis also happen to have one of the most picture-perfect rustic homes in the UK that we regularly scroll through to transport ourselves to the dusk-toned farmhouse. Every image posted to their feed is a work of art that could be studied for hours, where interesting colour combinations, secondhand finds and striking patterns combine.

If living inside an old church sounds fascinating, you'd be right. With a general store full of local Australian goodies, the Church Farm home is truly unique. We've been eagerly watching interior designer Claire Zinnecker's stories and posts as she makes the finishing touches on her 1899 Austin folk Victorian house. From the panelled walls and floors, to the vintage finishes, this home is a masterpiece on the inside and out.

Aimee Winchester's home's interior has a decidedly calm vibe to it with its pared-back furnishings and dialled-down colour palett. Each room delivers lashings of elegance and functionality for the young family, which is showcased beautifully on her Instagram grid.

Swathed in neutral tones, and outfitted with a mix of modern and antique pieces, TV presenter Edwina Bartholomew enlisted the help of architects Studio Esteta to completely gut this sandstone home in Sydney's Greater Blue Mountains region and transform it into a minimalist, yet cosy, hideaway.

Entrepreneur Emma Lane's sprawling property dubbed The Range, in the Byron Bay Hinterland, is set on 120 acres of land and boasts idyllic views of rolling hills and gorgeous coastline.
