10 Shows To Watch If You Can’t Get Enough Of 'Wednesday'

From 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' to 'American Horror Story', these shows will keep you entertained while waiting for ‘Wednesday’ season Two.

341 million hours of watching were clocked up in the opening week of the Tim Burton horror comedy Wednesday. It’s one of Netflix’s biggest releases of all time beating Stranger Things 4’s record for most hours watched for an English-language series in one week.

Viewers were captivated by this spooky Tim Burton delight, so much so that the show has started to take over other media outlets like TikTok with different dances and sounds starting to trend on the app.

If you’re like us and you’ve just finished watching Wednesday and you’ve been staring at a wall wondering what to watch next, here are ten shows that will satisfy your spooky needs while waiting for season two.

1. American Horror Story

If it was the unsettling premise and mild horror themes that you enjoyed in Wednesday, then you’re in luck because American Horror Story has all of that but amplified for 10 whole seasons. With each season being completely different than the last, American Horror Story is guaranteed to keep you entertained and slightly terrified. The cast remains relatively the same throughout, however plots, characters and storylines are all completely different, making for a horrifically versatile series.

2. You

It’s highly unlikely that you haven’t seen You, unless of course you prefer not to be completely creeped out by a television show. There’s three seasons to this twisted psychological thriller starring Penn Badgely and Victoria Pedretti. Apart from it being in the same dark vein as Wednesday, we recommend watching this if you're in need of a Jenna Ortega fix. Yep, that’s right! The leading lady from Wednesday stars in this gripping show too.

3. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

If you were a fan of Wednesday we can guarantee you’ll be a fan of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Why? Well, it essentially follows the same storyline – just with different characters and in a different setting. Originally released in October, 2012, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was sadly cancelled at episode 10 due to the pandemic. We highly recommend giving this supernatural thriller a go if you were a fan of Wednesday.

4. The Umbrella Academy

Young mischievous adults with supernatural powers, like the sound of that? We thought you would. The Umbrella Academy follows the lives of estranged siblings who all have unique powers which they use to uncover shocking family secrets and looming threats to humanity. There’s three seasons to this binge-worthy show, so you won’t be heartbroken with having to replace it with something else after the first 10 episodes.

5. Buffy

The show follows the protagonist (Buffy – played by Sarah Michelle Geller), who is a Slayer from a long line of young women chosen for a specific mission: to seek out and destroy vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. This show instantly evokes feelings of nostalgia and is definitely worth a watch if you were a fan of the supernatural elements in Wednesday.

10. Addams Family

We know it’s not a TV show but we just had to include the supernatural black comedy film The Addams Family to this list! The film focuses on the bizarre, macabre, aristocratic family who reconnect with what they believe to be a long-lost relative, Gomez's brother Fester Addams. The actor playing Wednesday might look familiar to you in this film… that’s because it's Christina Ricci, who plays Marilyn Thornhill: Wednesday’s teacher in Wednesday.
