We’re in the middle of our Mid-year Makeover sale, which means the only thing we’re thinking about is giving our spaces the ultimate refresh. And what better place to get inspo for your next project than from the world of TikTok, and in particular, the incredible before-and-after transformations.

These short videos showcase just how much you can change a space, and are a reminder that no matter where you start from or what your beginning might look like, the possibilities for change and transformation in your home are endless!

Here are some of our favourite TikToks to get you inspired for your next home makeover.

1. Living room

Gold accents, turquoise paint, terrifying furniture… the 'before' living room in this video changes completely into the incredibly chic, hotel-esque ‘lobby’ space you see in the 'after'. This Los Angeles creator showcases the steps along the way, which are simple: a fresh coat of paint, removing the gold and adding a new rug. These simple changes go a long way in creating a different atmosphere in this beautiful home.

2. Dining room

This is a small space, but with a mighty result. Australian creator Loui Burke took the tiniest room in his apartment and changed it into a home office and dining nook, largely through decoration. It’s all about floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains, a beautiful lampshade, and a rug in this room, which went from a tiny, underused room into a lovely space for working and feasting.

3. Bathroom

The 'before' and 'after' here has to be seen to be believed. What was once a dated, retro bathroom has been opened up into a bright and airy space. This one took time to complete but it was worth the effort. Check out that bathtub!

4. Outdoor area

Working with a tight budget and time frame, this creator was able to transform her deck into an outdoor space ready for entertaining. We love the tips in this video and the way she was able to create a beachy atmosphere with a pale-stained deck and a few choice pieces of outdoor furniture.

5. Kitchen

We can’t stop looking at this beautiful kitchen that's filled with lots of light and chic neutral-toned finishes. The creator has been doing a big renovation on her home and the kitchen is just one part of her dream vision. It’s her first time renovating and she’s done an incredible job: we're swooning over that gorgeous tile splashback.

6. Dining room

Oh, the changes you can make with a new rug and some different decorating accents. What we love about this creator’s video is that the refresh she gives her dining room is simple: a jute rug here, a gilt mirror there, but the styling transforms the space completely and opens it up.

7. Laundry

When it comes to decorating our homes, the laundry is often neglected. Some simple changes were made to this space, but they provide a world of difference! In this video, you can see how adding a wooden countertop above the washer and dryer helps to maximise space, while a shelf above the machines is a very useful organising tool.

8. Pantry

Even the creator is over the moon about this before and after! We love how she has transformed her pantry from a cluttered dumping ground into a streamlined and sunny – thanks to that gorgeous yellow paint – nook. The levels of organisation here are unparalleled and we feel inspired just watching this.

9. Bedroom

This is a guest room so nice we’d love to have it as our primary room. The styling is on point: lots of space and neutral colours make the room feel bright and welcoming, and the little details – from the Oatmeal sheets to the wooden bench at the foot of the bed – are so gorgeous.
