The Bed Threads Team Are Obsessed With These Under-The-Radar Instagram Accounts
Stumbling upon an Instagram account you love and realising that they have yet to be discovered by the masses is a great feeling. It's like you've found a very rare part of the platform that's just yours—that is until everyone inevitably catches on. The app's algorithm is notoriously hard to figure out, so we're not quite sure why some of our favourite accounts are still relatively modest in terms of followers. It only makes them more interesting though, because we feel like we wouldn't have to fight a thousand other uses to receive a reply to a comment or even a DM question. We've decided to share with you a selection of our favourite fresh 'grammers to add to your following list for beautiful content that'll brighten up your feed (and your day).
I mean, who doesn't love cute second-hand homewares with soul? Thrift Winds is a new account in what has become a tightly contested vintage homewares category on Instagram. Follow along to browse (or buy) one-off ceramics, antique glassware and quirky lamps.
Anything but ugly, this dream-like Instagram account belongs to Sharon in Maine, USA. From impeccable floral arrangements to endless amounts of interior inspiration, her gorgeous gallery is tempting us to pack up and move to her idyllic neighbourhood where weatherboard facades and warm fireplaces are the norm.
Discovering Claudia's Insta was a big deal. Here at Bed Threads, we're obsessed with up-and-coming local creatives and love to see their work pop up in our feeds. Claudia's abstract paintings are next level, using saturated pigments and white overlays to create very emotive works.
We're so proud to have a collection of Aimee's stunning ceramic pieces in the Homewares section of our online store. Her curvy crafts are dreamy and make the perfect addition to a bedside table or mantlepiece. We're waiting for her account to blow up—it won't be long.
Another vintage seller that we're obsessed with right now is Aesthetic Vintage Shop—a beautifully-curated selection of iconic furniture and homewares designs that could be your next statement piece. The pieces on offer are all drool-worthy, so you'll want to place your bids before the whole world finds out about this undiscovered account.
The moment we saw Holly's tonal figure paintings we knew we'd found one of our favourite new artists to follow. Combining flexible figures with bold colour pairings makes her work stand out from the crowd.
We're kind of ceramic fanatics here at Bed Threads (if you hadn't noticed). What we love even more is when they're handcrafted and handpainted by local makers. There's something really special about receiving a bespoke piece for your home knowing that no one else will ever have the exact piece you have. Min's monochrome pieces are organic and expressive and feature heavily in our recent Mediterranean farmhouse home tour with Sophie Bell.
Nestled in the Byron Industrial Estate, this art gallery is anything but stuffy. Its walls are lined with the works of some of the most inspiring and talented emerging artists that can be viewed in a beautiful light-filled space. Keep an eye on their Insta to discover the next big thing in the world of Australian art.
