'The White Lotus' Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

The third season of our favorite show is set to take place in Thailand.

Have you been eagerly awaiting the third season of The White Lotus? Us too. The satirical HBO series about groups of wealthy holidaymakers at dreamy resorts, where the staff members are tasked with dealing with their unhinged behaviour, captured our hearts from episode one.

From the vacation inspiration to mourning the loss of the beloved Tanya – whose iconic lines such as “These gays, they’re trying to murder me” have become part of our vernacular – has us desperate for more chaos.

Thankfully, following the success of season two, HBO has greenlit a third season. We run down everything you need to know about The White Lotus season 3.

What has creator Mike White said about The White Lotus Season 3?

Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus – fun fact, he’s also the star of School Of Rock, in which he played Jack Black’s friend and roommate – has been very clear about the fact that he wants to continue making the platform. The comedian and writer wants to continue making White Lotus but change the resort each season.

When the third season was announced, he said in a statement: “I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators.”

In the “Unpacking S2 E7” clip at the end of the Season 2 finale, White hints that Season 3 may take place in Asia and focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” The first season takes place in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and we can now confirm that the third season is set to take place in Thailand.

When can we watch The White Lotus Season 3?

The not-so-great news is we still have a little while to wait until season 3. During a press event in November 2023, HBO CEO Casey Bloys said: "White Lotus Season 3 probably would have been in play for 2024, [but now] it's 2025." One thing we will say is, that it will definitely be worth it.
