The Best Home Renovation Instagram Accounts to Follow

1. Josh and Jenna Densten

If Josh and Jenna Densten’s The Makers Home Tours are anything to go by, you know these two are absolute experts when it comes to transforming any boring room into the most dream-worthy space. The couple haven't stopped renovating since their time on the hit TV series The Block, and now even run an interior design course through their business The Design School.

We first caught up with the couple when they were living in a cosy little cottage in North Melbourne, and then had the pleasure of touring inside their impeccably designed family home located on the same block as the cottage. Their Instagram is filled with clever small-space design tips and cute snaps of their two children.

2. Bobby Berk

Queer Eye’s incredibly charming Bobby Clerk not only uses Instagram to give an insight into all things life and love, but also shares fabulous home tips. His feed is filled with chic home pictures, while he uses his Stories to delve deeper into helping us figure out our own unique design style, how to properly wash bedding, reviewing popular home products and even touring inside his #ModernGlamProject (which is honestly very “glam”).

3. Maddy Evennett

After years of travelling, Maddy Evennett and her family relocated to Newcastle, Australia, and began a journey of renovating their 1950s house located on Hutchinson Street.

Maddy is constantly evolving her beachside home, which she shares updates of her renovations on Instagram. But she also shares styling ideas, genius cleaning tips, garden and landscaping inspiration, and plenty of DIY projects. She’s all about being resourceful with materials, having realistic expectations, and using textures and colours to reflect personality.

4. Kyal and Kara

After becoming fan favourites on their season of The Block in 2014, the power couple went on to renovate upwards of 28 homes and worked on honing their skills for the ultimate project: turning their little beachside shack in Bateau Bay, on Sydney’s Central Coast, into a sprawling family home.

Follow them on Instagram for renovation tips, design inspiration and updates on projects they’re working on. Plus, you can check out their The Makers Home Tour here.

5. Three Birds Renovations

If you’ve been digging into the interior and renovation space, there’s no doubt you’ve come across these three best friends. It was back in 2014 when they started sharing fast and affordable transformations, and sharing genius reno hacks back on Instagram and their website.

They’ve now even gone on to hosting their own TV series and managing The Reno School, and on their personal Instagram accounts you’ll find reno updates on their own dream homes.

6. Jarryd and Rachel

What do you do when money is the only thing holding you back from building your dream home? Build it for free, of course - which is exactly what teenagers Jarryd and Rachel are doing.

After buying a vacant block of land, the 19-year-olds from East Gippsland in Victoria, Melbourne, went viral on social media platform TikTok after posting their first video, which has amassed over 1.7 million views at the time of writing, with people from around the world curious to see if the two can pull off the impressive project by their goal date of December 2021. Dubbed the @0dollarbuild, their bio reads: “Just tryna see if it’s possible to build a house for free.”

The ambitious teens share all their updates to Instagram, too, so make sure to give them a follow. We also had the pleasure of interviewing them and getting all the details about their incredible project here.

7. Katrina Chambers

Another The Block alumni, this self-described “interior design, DIY and plant addict” focusing on lifestyle, wellness, DIY and interior styling on her Instagram account and design blog.

Give her a follow and you’ll pick up some life-changing eco-friendly cleaning tips, inspo for decorating tween bedrooms and family-friendly interiors.
