The Hottest New Binge-Worthy Shows We’ll Be Streaming in February

Will the new streaming releases never end? From The Queen's Gambit to Bridgerton, it seems like every month there’s been a selection of series we can’t help but binge-watch.

And February is no different, with a number of exciting new shows (and some returning for more seasons) dropping onto streaming platforms. There are mega-stars over on Netflix, horror sequels on Stan, and even a space epic returning for a second season on Apple TV+.

Here are our picks of the best new shows to watch in February.

9 best binge-worthy shows to watch in February

1. Industry

Think of this as Succession, but for the world of investment banking, which isn’t too far of a leap, really. Industry promises to be sex, drugs and hedge fund managers, basically, and with a cast of exciting new rising stars and a script penned by Girls’ creator Lena Dunham, we’re definitely going to be tuning in.

Where to watch: HBO Max

2. The End

This locally produced drama stars Harriet Walter (Succession, Killing Eve) and Frances O’Connor (Mansfield Park) as a mother daughter duo struggling with the big questions thrown at you when you reach the end of your life.

This drama is really a portrait of a mother-daughter relationship, with both O’Connor and the inimitable Walter turning in powerhouse performances as polar opposites forced to reckon with what it might mean to be someone reaching the end of their life and no longer wanting to live it anymore.

The ensemble cast includes Australian legends including Alex Dimitriades, Robyn Nevin, Noni Hazlehurst and Brendan Cowell. A well-made series on a difficult and thought-provoking subject.

Where to watch: Sky

3. Firefly Lane

It’s been a long time since Katherine Heigl has been on our screens (Izzy from Grey’s Anatomy, we still miss you). Firefly Lane marks her return to television - a warm and fuzzy Netflix relationship drama about two best friends navigating friendship from their teen years to their 40s.

The show jumps back and forth in time, catching up with the pair in their adolescence, their 20s, their 30s and then their 40s, and it’s a cosy, easy watch for anyone who is a fan of Gilmore Girls or Sweet Magnolias.

Where to watch: Netflix

4. Fake Famous

If you’ve been bingeing Bling Dynasty on Netflix, this glossy docuseries is going to be your next obsession.

Following a group of young hopeful-influencers, this show is a deep dive into the world of viral fame and whether or not it’s possible to buy your way into the upper echelons of the social media elite. Addictive and moreish, this series is going to be one that everyone is talking about.

Where to watch: HBO Max

5. Clarice

Fans of the iconic horror story The Silence Of The Lambs, this one is for you.

This sequel follows FBI Agent Clarice Starling, played in the original film by Jodie Foster and here in this television show by Australian actress Rebecca Breeds, as she returns to the field after her dance with danger with the fearsome Hannibal Lecter.

In this series, we get to see more of the inner workings of Clarice’s mind – think of it like a less splashy Ratched – and find out how she came to be the woman that she is.

Where to watch: CBS

6. Nadiya Bakes

What the world needs now is a joyful, joyous baking show, and Nadiya Bakes is just that.

You might know Nadiya Hussain as a winner of the Great British Bake Off, having charmed the judges (and the world) with her infectious energy and her delicious cakes.

In this Netflix cooking show, she throws her energy into baking once more, creating beautiful sweet things from her kitchen and interviewing other creatives too. A lovely, warm hug of a series.

Where to watch: Netflix

7. Behind Her Eyes

What would any given month be without some kind of psychological thriller for us all to obsess over? One month, it’s The Undoing, another it’s Big Little Lies and in February it’s going to be Behind Her Eyes, a splashy, expensive Netflix miniseries about a single mother having an affair with her boss… While also becoming friends with his enigmatic wife. Intrigued? We are too.

And with a cast that includes Eve Hewson – yes, Bono’s daughter – Tom Bateman and Simona Brown, this show is sure to be the obsession of the month.

Where to watch: Netflix

8. For All Mankind season 2

The first season of this thoughtful and compelling space drama posed the question: what if the US hadn’t won the race to the moon? What if, instead, a Russian rocket had landed first? How might the world look if that had been the case?

There are a few series out there posing similar ‘what if’ questions – The Man In The High Castle is a good example – and this is one of the best. With a case that includes Jodi Balfour, Cynthy Wu and Joel Kinnaman, it’s well-acted, well-scripted and addictive to watch.

Where to watch: AppleTV+

9. Ginny & Georgia

Is Ginny & Georgia a heist caper? Is it a crime series? Is it a family comedy? Is it a road movie? Well, what about a combination of both? This Netflix series, which has already drawn comparisons to Gilmore Girls and Dead To Me, is a quirky take on a mother-daughter comedy, with its story of a free-spirited woman and her two children trying to find a new home after being on the run.

It’s big-hearted and watchable and we’re sure it’s going to be a big hit on Netflix.
