June's Super Strawberry Full Moon in Capricorn Is the Most Powerful Astrological Event of 2021

2021’s second Mercury retrograde in Gemini came to an end on June 22 and we survived May’s rare Super Flower Blood Moon, but now there’s a full Moon in Capricorn happening on June 24 until June 26 - and it’s set to be one of the most powerful astrological events of the year.

Here’s everything you need to know about this event dubbed the ‘Full Strawberry Supermoon’, what a full Moon in Capricorn means for you, and how you can make the most of this dynamic time filled with manifestation, culmination, and self-realization.

How to see June’s Strawberry Supermoon

2021 has been filled with many supermoons. The Super Pink Moon in Scorpio came on April 26, followed by the Super Flower Moon in Sagittarius on May 26, and now the final supermoon of 2021 - the Super Strawberry Moon on June 24 that will complete the cycle of three.

According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, this moon derives its “strawberry” name from a variety of Native American tribes including Algonquin, Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples, among others, who associate this time of year with particular “June-bearing” fruit (in certain parts of North America), specifically strawberries. Every 20 years, the Strawberry Moon coincides with Summer Solstice, which makes this year’s particularly special.

Despite its name, unfortunately, the moon won’t actually look strawberry pink but it will have a lovely golden hue if you catch it during the first 20 minutes after sunset.

According to NASA, the Strawberry Moon will be at perigee (the point in the orbit of the moon when it’s closest to earth) at 5:56am ET on Wednesday, June 23. The space agency says the moon will then appear the next day on June 24 at 2:40pm Eastern, lasting until June 26.

What does the Full Moon in Capricorn mean?

Capricorns are compared to mountain goats because they’re hard workers who are full of determination and ambition, and will do anything to achieve their goals. This is why this full Moon has the potential to bring monetary or professional news.

However, as much as Capricorns work hard, they like to play hard, too. Consider foregoing all your professional responsibilities for a mental health day, an off-grid weekend trip away to disconnect and recharge, or some much-needed time to reconnect with loved ones.

How to use the Full Moon in Capricorn to your advantage

According to astrologer Natasha Weber, “this full Moon finds the sweet spot between self-care and hard work”.

“La Luna in Capricorn sparks ambition, pushing you mercilessly towards your goals, while Le Soleil begs you to take time out to replenish your reserves,” she tells Bed Threads Journal.

She always warns that Saturn is this full Moon’s home planet, which will be in retrograde, so “now is not the time for either extreme”.

The key to flourishing during this time is by finding the middle ground and a certain balance between the two.

“Carve out plenty of ‘me time’ while steadily making your mark on the world. It might take a bit longer to hit your target but at least you won’t risk sacrificing your wellbeing in the hot pursuit of your aims.”
